Alfred B. “Al” Noble, 67, Decatur, passed away Good Friday, April 18, 2014, at Adams Memorial Hospital in Decatur.
He was born Aug. 13, 1946, in Fort Wayne, to Barbara (Esch) Noble and the late Edgar B. Noble.
Al married his wife of 46 years Leanna J. Vodde Sept. 2, 1967; she survives.
He was a member of First United Methodist Church where he served as the church treasurer. Al was instrumental in beginning the community meals at First Methodist called Fishes and Loaves. He was active in the church choir and music team and served on various church committees. If there was something going on at the church Al was somehow involved. He was a founding member of the music group Praise Four. Al was currently working at Meijer in Fort Wayne.
He is survived by a son, Alex (Sherie) Noble of Fort Wayne; a daughter, Barb (Derek) Jung of Clinton Township, Mich.; a brother, Bill (Nancy) Noble of Fort Wayne; a sister, Dorothy (Bill) Euske of Sea Ranch, Calif.; and five grandchildren, Brooke, Leah, Aric and Aubri Noble; and Kenny Jung.
Al was preceded in death by a brother, David Noble.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday at First United Methodist Church with Pastor Amy Covington officiating.
Burial will take place in Prairie Grove Cemetery in Waynedale.
Visitation will be held from 2–4 p.m. and 6–8 p.m. Tuesday at Haggard –Sefton and Hirschy Funeral Home.
