BERNE — Bellmont captured eight first places and set four meet records, but still finished second to host South Adams in the South Adams Girls Track Invitational Friday night.
In the boys meet, South Adams also won that meet, topping second place Snider and third-place Heritage.
The Starfire girls totaled 116 points to the 102.3 points of Bellmont. Adams Central was third with 80 points.
Alexis Harvey won both the 100 and 200 meter dash's with invitational record times. In the 100, Harvey went 12.47, to beat the previous mark of 12.7, set in 1987. In the 200, Harvey broke her own mark from last year with a 25.47. Her old mark was 26.15.
The 1600 BHS girls relay team broke a six-year-old record previously held by Adams Central with a 4:11.37, beating the old mark of 1:14. Harvey, Emily Roman, Bailee Hankenson and Holly Hankenson were on that squad.
Holly Hankenson set the 100 hurdle record 16.42 with that victory. Holly also won the 300 hurdles in 47.66, and she added the long jump win with a leap of 14 feet, nine and one-half inches.
In the 400 meter run, Bellmont went one-two with Alexis Harvey getting a fourth blue with a 1:01.64, and Bailee Hankenson following with a 1:02.85 for second.
The Bellmont 400 relay team, without Harvey and Holly Hankenson, won with Amber Loshe, Megan Schueler, Bailee Hankenson and an outstanding anchor by Jessica Brewer, who held off girls from Snider and Heritage with a leaning finish. The time was 55.44 and Snider 55.52, and Heritage 55.59.
Harvey and Holly Hankenson tied for the high point award as each scored 32.5.
In the 800, Kristen Muselman won for SA with a 2:31.63 while Hannah Moore won the 3200 for the Stars in 12:39.25. The 3200 relay team won in 10:36.75, their best time of the year to beat Bellmont.
South Adams' Leah Mitchell won with a toss of 31'5". Hannah Mitchell won the discus with a toss of 85'3".
