Decatur native Brandon Teeple has launched a career in the United States Air Force, but he hasn't given up on another phase of his life: hockey.
A1C Teeple of the 791st MSFS and two pals traveled no less than 1,350 miles from their Minot, North Dakota, base to Texas to participate in the NYTEX Armed Forced Hockey Classic in North Richland Hills, Texas, over the Memorial Day weekend.
The long haul paid off with a championship trophy as the Minot team won the event with a 4-0 record, sweeping the other branches. The Air Force crew became the first from their branch to win the tourney as well as the first team to take the tourney without a loss
