Aileen H. Witte

    Aileen H. (Bradtmueller) Witte, 91, passed away Tuesday, March 27, 2014, at Lutheran Life Villages Pine Valley.
    She was born in Fort Wayne to the late Adolph and Viola (Nuoffer) Bradtmueller.
    Aileen was a graduate of Concordia Lutheran High School and Lutheran Hospital School of Nursing.
    She married Norman H. Witte in 1947. The couple lived in Decatur for 16 years before returning to Fort Wayne.
    Aileen was an active member of Concordia Lutheran Church. She was a member of Northside Optimist Club and delivered Homebound Meals for 25 years.
    Surviving are six children, Margaret (John) Mowery, Kenneth (Gail) Witte, Henry (Ruth) Witte, Edward (Doreen) Witte, Ruth (Douglas) Winicker and Michael (Mary Ellen) Witte; a sister, Norma (Guenther) Herzog; a brother-in-law, Roland (Dorothy) Witte; two sisters-in-law, Velma (Otis) Witte and Mary (Weldon) Bradtmueller; 20 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
    She was preceded in death by her husband of 63 years, Norman H. Witte, in 2010; a brother, Weldon Bradtmueller; and one grandchild.
    Funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at Concordia Lutheran Church, 4245 Lake Avenue, Fort Wayne.
    Burial will be in Lindenwood Cemetery, Fort Wayne.
    Calling will be held from 4-8 p.m. Wednesday at Hockemeyer and Miller Funeral Home, 6131 St. Joe Road, Fort Wayne and one hour prior to the service on Thursday.
    Preferred memorials are to the Witte Bradtmueller Scholarship fund at Concordia Lutheran High School or Concordia Lutheran Church.
