Ag Extravaganza No. 5 held here

    The Adams County Soil and Water Conservation District (SWCD) recently held its fifth annual Ag Extravaganza, at the Mirage Banquet Hall in Decatur.
    According to a news release, items discussed included financial reports, elections, and awards for the Pork Producers, Farm Bureau, and the SWCD.
    Some highlights of the evening included the following:
    • Luke Liechte received the 2011 Pork Producers Scholarship.
    • Ryan Amstutz was elected to a second term as a supervisor for the SWCD.
    • Alyssa Brune, daughter of Jim and Rhonda Brune of rural Decatur, was recognized for creating the winning SPLASH Day design.
    In addition, Randy Roe was recognized for winning the River Friendly Farmer award while Carly Myers and Triston Vetter were recognized for winning the Lugar Essay Contest.
