AC, SA girls honored for ACAC basketball teams

    The ACAC girls basketball All-Conference teams were selected this week for the 2013-14 season boasting a Lady Jet and Starfire on the first team.
    Senior Dzejna Ahmetovic was the lone first teamer for South Adams leading the Stars to one of their most successful seasons in school history with 13 victories this year. Ahmetovic is also among Hoosier Basketball Magazine's top 100 senior girls basketball players in Indiana.
    Joining her on the first team is Adams Central sharp-shooter Abby Busse. Also on the first team are three Garrett Railroaders, seniors Brandi Dawson and Kaitlin Wisel as well as sophomore Taylor Smith. From Heritage, juniors Kendall Knapke and Tattenai Hall were honored on the first team, while Leo senior Toby Carman and freshman Abbie Heischman earned slots as well.
    From Bluffton, junior Erin McKinley was the only first team representative as was senior Carissa Carter of Southern Wells and senior Brooke Gerbers of Woodlan.
    Senior Briona Case was honored for Adams Central on the second team, while South Adams included a pair of players from their roster in senior Alyssa Bluhm and sophomore Sydney Willis.
    Also making the first team were pairs from Woodlan, Leo and Heritage along with one each from Bluffton, Garrett, and Southern Wells.
