AC OKs teacher retire incentive

March 13, 2013

With the retirement of Adams Central Superintendent Mike Pettibone looming, Pettibone continues to show his commitment to the school's future by proposing an incentive package for retiring certified staff.
Pettibone proposed a $15,000 retirement incentive for AC teachers and administrators to the Adams Central Board of Education on Tuesday, noting that the incentive would not include himself.
"You guys [AC] have been wonderful to me," said Pettibone. "I want to step outside of this and make this for the staff."
Under the proposal, teachers who qualify for retirement with the AC master agreement would receive $15,000. That money would be placed in a 403(b) account and made available to the retiree as of July 15, 2013. The regular severance package offered to retiring teachers would still be available immediately.
