AC netters clip Stars 3-2

    MONROE—County rivals Adams Central and South Adams squared off on the tennis courts at AC Tuesday night and the Jets swept the doubles competition to squeeze out a 3-2 win over the Starfires in an ACAC  varsity match.
    The Jets' Nathan Barger dispatched Alex Huber  to a quick 6-1, 6-0 setback at number one singles but the Starfires came up with their two team points in the other singles play with Scott Hoeppner topping Conner Lengerich 7-5, 6-4, and Mark Muselman survived a 4-6, 6-3, 6-4 marathon match over Jacob Weil at number three.
    The doubles matches found both events very competitive as Derek Roe and Keaton Fiechter registered a  6-3, 6-2 win over Ian Frank and Derek Schwartz at number one and Isaac Luginbill and Jon Weil captured a 6-3, 7-6 (4) win at number two to assure the Jets of the team win.
    Adams Central moved to 6-3 on the season with the win while South Adams fell to 7-4.
    The reserve match found Adams Central winning all six matches over South Adams led by a 4-0, 4-0 number one singles victory by Pierce Harris over Brayden Myers. In other singles play, Ben Kaehr took out Jared Rife 5-3, 5-4 (12-10),  Zach Fiechter notched a 4-0, 5-4 mark against Landon Lehman, and Eric Ripley won 5-3, 4-2 over Dylan Pierce.
    There were two doubles matches held at the JV level with Jacob Bergdall and Cody Walburn scoring a 4-2, 4-0 decision over Brayden Myers and Jared Rife and Luke Marbach and Isaac Bransteter took a 5-3, 4-2 session from Landon Lehman and Dylan Pierce.
    The AC reserves moved to 5-1-1 while South Adams is 5-4.
