New grant funding has finally come through for Adams Central Schools to help pay the salary of School Resource Officer Charlie Cook for the remainder of the school year.
Superintendent Dr. Lori Richmond told the school district’s board of education Tuesday the $38,000 matching funds grant will go not only toward Cook’s salary but will also be used for the purchase of additional security measures, such as locks and cameras.
Richmond noted the school is eligible for a new grant in April, this one for $50,000, which would be used to pay Cook’s salary for both semesters.
