Adams Central teacher Katie Isch was recognized by the school board this week after being named a recipient of the Armstrong Teacher Educator Award for 2013-14 by Indiana University (IU).
The award was developed in 1997 to honor exemplary teachers throughout Indiana interested in working with teacher education students, faculty, and staff at IU, according to a release issued by the university.
Isch told the board she submitted lesson plans, an essay answering the questions "Why do you want to be a teacher and what do you hope to accomplish?" and letters of recommendation from Pettibone and AC High School Principal Jason Witzigreuter to be considered for the award.
