AC grad has found her calling: Military animal care specialist

     A graduate of Adams Central High School scrubs into the sterile operating room and lays out the instruments the surgeon will need. High-tech life-support machines surround her as she draws blood from the patient’s hairy paw.
    This patient, a 6-year-old German shepherd, is just one of the many military working dogs she and her fellow animal care specialists provide medical care for on a daily basis.
    Army Sgt. Holly Braun, the daughter of Susan and Anthony Braun, Berne, is an animal care specialist with the Department of Defense Military Working Dog Veterinary Service at the Lt. Col. Daniel E. Holland Military Working Dog Hospital at Lackland Joint Base in San Antonio, Texas.
