Adams Central's seventh grade volleyball team went undefeated this season, racking up a 20-0 mark, going 9-0 in the ACAC, and winning the conference tournament by beating Garrett and Heritage.
Coach Becky Brown congratulated her players by saying, "They never had to go three games with any opponent all season and they defeated three previously unbeaten teams: Norwell, Bellmont, and Leo.
"They are the ACAC regular season champs, the East Jay Tourney champs, the Adams County Tourney champs, and the ACAC Tourney champs!
"They deserve credit for their ability to work hard to improve, for unselfish teamwork, and for having positive attitudes. All nine players contributed to the success of the season."
The first league tourney win was over Garrett, 25-10 and 25-10, as the Lady Jets served 94%, with 17 aces and 15 kills. Sarah Luginbill and Anna Burkhart each had four aces and Jenni Baumer "was powerful at the net with nine kills," said Brown.
The Heritage victory was by scores of 25-13 and 25-10. Kylie Baller was a perfect server, going 17 for 17, with 10 aces, and Kara Keller was tops in kills, with six. AC served 98%.
In both games, Baller served 23 for 24, with 10 aces and three kills; Keller went 17 for 17, with three aces, seven kills, and seven assists; Burkhart served 14 for 14, with six aces; Baumer served 12 for 13, with five aces, 11 kills, and eight assists; Kaela Sharp served 10 for 11, with three aces and two kills; and Luginbill served 10 for 11, with five aces.
