Swiss Days 3-on-3 returns

    The Swiss Days 3-on-3 basketball tournament returns to the South Adams High School gyms immediately after the big race on Saturday, July 26.
    The cost to play for each team is $30 per team (if paid by July 20) and the maximum players per team is four. Any registrations delivered after July 20 will cost teams $40 including the date of the event. This double elimination tournament will include four divisions: upper boys (HS and up), upper girls (HS and up), lower boys (6th-8th grade), and lower girls (6-8 gr).

Cross Creek golf camp results

    The 2014 Cross Creek Golf Camp held their annual tourney at the end of their experience on the course throughout June.
    The divisions included girls in groups of 8-9 years old, 10-11, and 14-15, while the boys were split into 7-10 year olds, 10-11s, 12-13s, and 14 and older.

BHS finishes 9th at regional; SA’s Clouser misses state cut

    YORKTOWN— Bellmont golf ended their season on Friday night as did South Adams' Cal Clouser at The Players Club Golf Course, the site of IHSAA regional boys golf.
    While Muncie Central officially hosted the regional event, Yorktown High School made themselves at home on a course they played several times this year capturing the top honors with a team score of 302 strokes.

Hankenson named Mental Attitude winner

All-NHC, ACAC baseball teams named

    The Northeast Hoosier Conference and the Allen County Athletic Conference each released their All-team lists this week as all three county schools were honored for their play.
    Bellmont, finishing 3-4 in the NHC, drew just one player on the first team list while also nabbing a pair of selections to the honorable mention lists.

Short-handed Squaws to play their hand at track state

    With entries in five events at the IHSAA girls state finals in track Friday evening, Bellmont coach Carl Risch says he believes his Squaws have a chance at finishing among the top 10 in the team standings.
    Following the girls action on Saturday will be the boys state finals with Bellmont having the only entrant from Adams County in Cam Bienz in the high jump.

Hill, AC feet short of win over Cavs

    MONROE— Both Adams Central and South Adams advanced to the sectional baseball semi-finals on Saturday but neither would make it to the championship slate as Canterbury topped Woodlan, 1-0, in their first year in the 2A class.
    Central drew the Cavaliers of Canterbury after downing Bluffton last week in the opening round and a dramatic catch in left field made the difference between extra innings and a loss for the Jets in game one, 2-1.
