AC withstands Bellmont run; win county game, 7-4

April 9, 2013

In the opening two frames it appeared as though Bellmont was the returning state runners-up and Adams Central was the rebuilding squad in Tuesday's inter-county rivalry between the Jets and the Squaws.
Bellmont held a 4-0 advantage taking advantage of four AC miscues in the first two innings but seven runs later, the Lady Jets showed stellar run support and pulled out the 7-4 victory.

Squaws edge out Jay County; Lady Jets take third

April 5, 2013

MONROE—The Bellmont girls collected blue ribbons a plenty Thursday evening in its opening triangular outdoor track meet of the season winning 12 of the 15 events but still edged out Jay County by just 10 points winning 76-66 over the Pats, while host Adams Central garnered just 11 points.
The performance was a near repeat of last year's meet but had a different team winner this year as Jay County won in 2012 despite a lopsided collection of "blues" for the Squaws.

Squaws go hitless in season opener against Bluffton, 5-1

April 4, 2013

Bellmont opened their season on Wednesday night at the Teepee but may have left their bats in Florida as Bluffton's Kaitlyn Lovell pitched a one-run no-hitter against the Squaws in a 5-1 decision.
The Squaws looked like a team who had only been on the ball diamond once this season...because they were. Tuesday night's practice was the first time coach Rich Burkhalter was able to get out on the field between the weather this month and then a spring break vacation last week.
