BERNE — Bellmont's Logan Neher handed South Adams' junior Boaz Marbach his first loss in two months, scoring a 9-3 victory at 145 pounds, and the Braves continued their strong late-season push with a 63-12 win over the Starfires in the final dual meet of the season for both clubs.
Bellmont won 11 matches, scoring eight falls, and took a forfeit at 138 in the rout, which surprised both coaches.
Tonight the Squaws search for their first victory of the season when they welcome the Garrett Railroaders. The JV contest will begin at approximately 6:15 p.m. with the DDD pre-game show beginning at 7:30 or immediately after the JV game.

Gathering several club teams from the region, Villa Lanes hosted a Baker Position Round for both the boys and girls high schools as the Braves and Squaws were each felled by their opponents after 5-5 ties were broken by total pins.
Huntington North, South Adams, and Norwell also were present in the bowling battles represented by both their boys and girls teams.
INDIANAPOLIS — Bellmont capped off one of the busiest eight days in the history of the program, going 4-1 and losing only to No. 17 Carmel at the North Central Super Six Saturday.
The Braves, 10-4 in the 14 meets during that period and 8-1 this week, had solid wins over Lawrence North, 34-21, and Center Grove, 43-18, to go with a 72-6 rout of Chatard, and a 75-6 blitzing of North Central.
BERNE— South Adams earned five falls, took a pair of forfeits and rebuffed match-time strategy by Southern Wells coach Ryan Landis in two other slots in a 45-19 ACAC wrestling win over the Raiders Friday night at the Stardome.
"They kind of played games, so we had our guys ready, and they stepped in and got the job done," stated South Adams coach Barry Humble, who has written a few books of his own about match manipulation.

FORT WAYNE— After an 18-8 explosion to open the ACAC semi-final at the Memorial Coliseum on Thursday night, the Jets could not maintain their scoring prowess and the Garrett Railroaders escaped with a 54-49 victory to move on to the finals.
Woodlan awaits Garrett in tomorrow morning's final back in Fort Wayne as they defeated 2012 champion Bluffton in the first game of the double-header ensuring a new champion not named Bluffton, Leo or Heritage for the first time in 16 years.
Bellmont, now rated 16th in the state, made it a 4-0 week in the NHC by dominating an under-manned Homestead squad Wednesday, 68-6 at the Teepee.
The Braves, who swept out three loop foes, including No. 18 (IHSWCA poll) East Noble Monday, scored seven falls, a tech fall and 11-7 decision at 138 pounds with Danny Baker, and went 12-2 overall Wednesday to go 6-1 in NHC dual meets this season.

MONROE—The opening round of the 91st boys and 40th girls ACAC basketball tournament opened for Adams Central and Southern Wells at the Hangar Tuesday night with the Adams Central boys posting a 61-49 victory over the Raiders while the Wells County girls breezed past the Jets by a 58-28 count.
