Lori McGill was the winner of our Pigskin Picks week nine as the second person this season to nail all 10 games. The tie-breaker score this week was 64 points between the Broncos and Patriots game and Lori's guess was 55. Lynn Ruble nabbed second place also missing zero games but because of her tie-breaker guess of 46 points she was just behind Lori. In third place was Todd McGill who missed just one game and was closest to the tie-breaker score with 63. MONTICELLO— The last of the incredibly successful girls fall sports has fallen over the weekend with the Squaws volleyball team bowing out in the state's final four level.
For the third time this season, the #2-ranked Concordia Lutheran Cadets bested Bellmont, this time in four sets Saturday night in the semi-state final match 25-11, 25-11, 25-27, 25-16.
SQUAW POWER!!!—For the first time in school history, every fall girls sport at Bellmont was victorious in bringing home a sectional crown this season. What started as the first girls golf sectional title won outright turned into the soccer team earning their fifth crown, then the cross country team’s ninth sectional on the same day. With the Squaws’ vollleyball team capturing their 31st crown at Mississinewa (10th in a row), Bellmont completed the quad-fecta of successful female teams this fall. (Photo by Dylan Malone)
