Old Man Winter strengthened its grip on Adams County by dumping another one and one-half inches of snowfall on Decatur throughout the day Jan. 24. Three-year-old Korbin Arnold of Decatur is wrapped up warmly as he takes a spin down a hill in the city's Hanna-Nuttman Park Dec. 27, as part of numerous activities created for local young people during the Christmas-New Year's break. A bundled-up Elizabeth Stevens was the first person to arrive at Kmart in Decatur, at 2:20 a.m. Nov. 26. But, because she waited in her car and out of the cold for awhile, she ended up being the fourth person in line. Stevens said her first Black Friday shopping stop was to Wal-mart at midnight.
Despite high winds and heavy rains which passed through Adams County earlier in the day on Tuesday, conditions were nearly perfect later in the evening for the annual Berne Halloween parade. A large crowd, including this man and his little pink friend, gathered along Main Street for the parade and the candy which traditionally goes with it.
