There are movies that are made that are noted as being timely. These movies take on the day-to--day stories that many of those viewing them are going through and turn them into stories with compelling characters, events that viewers can relate to and that touch the heart all at the same time. THE COMPANY MEN is just such a movie.

John August, Adams County's Emergency Management Agency (EMA) director. won't lay any phoney baloney on you. Plain and simple, he says that if a person or family wants to be warned of an impending storm or tornado, don't rely entirely on the county's warning siren system.
Instead, purchase a NOAA (National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration) weather radio. Much, much more reliable.

Sometimes I see advertisements for a product for which I want more information, so I research it online. Often, I keep in touch with my family members through social networking sites. And, weekly, my children’s school sends home a parent newsletter, often with an announcement directing me to check information online.

I’ve seen tons of movies and have always been a fan of John Wayne. He epitomized the West for an entire generation of moviegoers. But the amazing thing is that with all of the films that he made that I’ve seen, there are still a number that I’ve never gotten around to.
THE SEARCHERS is one. Until watching this film the other night, THE COMANCHEROS was another. The film has just been released in a 50th anniversary blu-ray edition on Fox’s book style format. It’s a keeper, folks.

Finally, end in sight
Finally, and at long last, something may be done to rid the city of the eyesore at Monroe and Second streets which for years was a part of a bustling downtown as Holthouse Drug Co.
Mayor John Schultz has confirmed that the current owner of the building, Don Spice, recently approached him about selling it to the city. Before the situation can progress any further, city council will have to give its approval for the mayor to enter into negotiations. But one can bet on that being a quick 5-0 vote!
STOP A COMEDIAN, PLEASE
There are comedians who make some hilarious movies. The problem is that they have a certain shtick that they use … and then use again … and then use again and again and again until they’ve played it out so often that they fade to obscurity.
The "elder statesman" of Adams County boys basketball coaches (of which there are only two, as of Tuesday night) is sure Bellmont's new hire, 25-year-old John Baker, will do just fine, despite his youthfulness.
Aaron McClure understands what it means to be so young when landing your first head coaching job. He was only 24 when named Adams Central's head basketball coach 12 years ago.
