Adams County pride and more baseball changes
By DYLAN MALONE
I am once again overly impressed with how talented our wrestlers are in this part of the state. It can’t be overstated just how much success breeds success, especially in a team sport like wrestling.
Adams County was the bane of every other wrestling team in the region on Saturday when they dominated the sectional tournament at Jay County High School.
How badly did the three schools terrorize the rest of the field?
The streak goes full circle...
"I haven't got any letters, yet," stated Bellmont wrestling coach Brent Faurote, whose Braves had their 22-year stranglehold on area sectional wrestling stopped by a championship Adams Central squad Saturday at Jay County.

I had the opportunity to watch some third and fourth graders play basketball over the weekend at the Martin Luther King, Jr. Classic. The teams were part of a Midwest regional AAU tournament with members from the Spiece Fieldhouse and Gym Rats.
Kicke'em while they're down ... but hurry!
"Somehow, it doesn't seem right, going into this week and not really being a factor," stated Bellmont coach Brent Faurote, who is very used to the rest of the NHC figuring a way to take Bellmont down.
It just never happened.
Never, however, is now.

There’s no underselling just how important sports are to our culture. Yes, they are just games played by professionals who get paid to participate in them for a living, but who pays their salaries? We do. The fans.
We love sports. I love sports. That’s why I’m here, of course. I enjoy sports so I write about them for a living and it’s not a bad gig.

I won’t go into great detail about the webcasting but there have been some questions about it as well as some thoughts.
First of all, I am so thankful for the amount of people who actually understand the problems that one can (and will) encounter when working with the internet. Try as I might...prepare as I might, the network problems during the Bellmont/Columbia City game were apparently meant to be.
"We wrestled better in that final round than I thought we would. We doubled 'em up, winning nine matches and most of those we stuck 'em," stated a proud Adams Central wrestling coach Doug Schultz, commenting on the Jets' historic championship in the Indiana High School Wrestling Coaches Association first team tournament this past Saturday.

Merry Christmas to all. The time spent with family and friends is always my favorite part and I did a lot with both. There's just something about someone opening the present you got for them and seeing their eyes light up that makes me feel like there's still some good news to tell in the world. Like for at least that moment all the garbage you see on the television about school shootings and unrest in the other parts of the world just goes away.
