Gwendolyn Burroughs Clay, 88, Palm Coast, Fla. and formerly of Decatur, passed away Aug. 20, 2014.
Born to the late Emma Burroughs Mallone, Gwendolyn retired from the Fort Wayne Township Trustees office in Allen County. She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.
Tracy Bowman Earhart, 44, Bluffton, died Monday, Aug. 25, 2014, at her residence. She was a graduate of South Adams High School.
Among survivors are her brothers, Michael R. Bowman of Bluffton, Anthony L. Bowman of Portland and Brian Bowman of Bremen, Ky.; and sisters, Blanda Bowman and Kelli Bowman, both of Angola, Lacy Cruz of Toledo, Ohio and Emily Bowman of Bremen.
Joan A. Parr, 80, Berne, died Tuesday, Aug. 26, 2014, at Renaissance Village Nursing Home in Fort Wayne.
She was born June 4, 1934, to Ira John and Audrey F. (Webb) Miller. Early in her life, she was adopted by William M. McGee. On Sept. 4, 1953, she married Keith B. Parr; he preceded her in death March 19, 2009.
Joan was a member of Bethel Brethren Church in Berne and was a homemaker.
Fred Edgell will claim the honor of being the oldest Veteran to go to Washington, D.C., on Honor Flight No. 14 of Northeast Indiana when the group departs Oct. 1. Edgell is a World War II veteran and a resident at Adams Heritage Nursing Facility in Monroeville. He will celebrate his 99th birthday Sept. 17.
Egdell will be accompanied by his guardian, Chris Mowery, a physical therapy assistant employed by Adams Health Network.

A discussion that spanned three city council meetings during the past six weeks regarding a garage sale ordinance designed to regulate the duration and number of rummage sales in Berne has finally come to an end.
Work on the new Decatur Police Department building continued to progress as Ed Spangler of Piqua Repairs used a crane to set the roof rafters in place earlier this week.
Concordia Lutheran backed up their number one ranking in class 3A on Tuesday night besting the fifth-ranked Bellmont Squaws in four sets at the Teepee 25-23, 23-25, 18-25, 12-25.
The Squaws took the electric first set despite trailing 20-16 at one point ending on a 9-3 run to take their only set of the match. Neither team led by more than four points in the first two sets at any time and in the first, the Squaws built a 9-7 lead taking four of their points off of Cadet miscues.
Tonight's volleyball contest at the Teepee invites the Concordia Cadets, currently ranked #2 in class 3A to face off with the Squaws (#6 in 3A).

Robert Wayne “Bob” Frauhiger, 72 of Hilton Head Island, S.C. and formerly of Decatur, passed away peacefully in his sleep at his residence Aug. 14, 2014.
Bob was born in Decatur Dec. 20, 1941. He was one of 11 children born to Harry R. and Berniece I. Hannie Frauhiger.
Among survivors are seven brothers and sisters, Fred Frauhiger and Barbara Weiss of Carmel, Gary, Phil and Bill Frauhiger of Fort Wayne, Stan Frauhiger and Mary Jo Frauhiger of Decatur.
Joseph E. Shaw, 69, Decatur, died Sunday, Aug. 24, 2014, at Chalet Village in Berne.
Among survivors are his daughters, Bonnie J. Shaw and Connie J. Shaw; brothers, Bud (Sarah) Shaw, Ted (Mary) Shaw, Johnny Johnson, Bobby Johnson and Henry Johnson, all of Decatur; and sister, Mary Kahn of Bryant.
Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at Haggard-Sefton & Hirschy Funeral Home.
