Mary L. Krick

December 20, 2011

    Mary Lou Krick, 64, of Decatur, died on Monday in Adams Memorial Hospital.
    She was born to William and Leotta Smith Doll Jr., who are deceased.
    Among survivors are two sons, Aaron and Ryan Krick of Decatur; five sisters; and two brothers, including Bill Doll of Geneva.
    No funeral service will be held. Burial will be in Beery Cemetery of Adams County.
    Visiting hours are 5-8 p.m. Wednesday in Zwick and Jahn Funeral Home, Decatur.

Jana L. Wynn

    Jana L. Wynn, 65, of Berne, passed away on Monday, December 19, 2011, at Swiss Village Retirement Community in Berne.
    Jana was born on March 7, 1946, in Adams County to the late Charles C. and Nolda G. (Agler) Hendricks.
    On July 16, 1966, she married David A. Wynn.
    Jana was a member of St. Mark’s United Methodist Church in Decatur and a former choir member. She was also a homemaker.

Paul C. Neuenschwander

    Paul C. Neuenschwander, 95, of Berne, died Saturday at Swiss Village Retirement Community.
    He was born to Leon and Hilda Sprunger Neuenschwander.
    Among survivors are two sons, Jerrold Neuenschwander of Berne and Ted Neuenschwander of Newark, Ohio, and two sisters, Mrs. Merlin (Alice) Sprunger and Louise Miller of Berne.

Jets make another late surge, beat Lakewood Park Panthers, 68-53

    AUBURN—The Jets played their second game in as many days on Saturday after defeating the Woodlan Warriors handily the night before as they travelled to Auburn to take on the Lakewood Park Christian Panthers winning, 68-53.
    There was a sense of "déjà vu" for AC as the game was very similar to the Woodlan game the night before in that the Jets played even with their competition in the first half, then had a strong third quarter and coasted in the fourth for the victory.

    Jana L. Wynn, 65, of Berne, died today at Swiss Village Retirement Community.
    Funeral arrangements are pending at Haggard-Sefton and Hirschy Funeral Home, Decatur.

Problems with county’s three downtown buildings discussed

    The Adams County Council discussed the physical condition of the three downtown Decatur buildings owned by the county at the council's December meeting last week.
    Steve Krull, the county's superintendent of buildings and facilities, told council members that some significant water leaks are occurring in the Service Complex on the north side.

Pond enters plea of guilty

    A rural Ossian man charged with murder in the shooting death of a four-year-old neighbor boy ended Friday when he pleaded guilty in Wells Circuit Court to a reduced charge of voluntary manslaughter.
    Bruce Pond, 47, entered the plea in an agreement that included filing the manslaughter charge and dismissing the murder charge.

State-funded CC budget given the county’s okay

    The Adams County Council, at its meeting this week, unanimously approved the 2012-13 budget of Adams County's Community Corrections (CC), since all the money comes from the state.
    The budget of $448,135 is the same at the 2010-11 budget, with the largest single amount ($118,300) for leasing electronic ankle bracelets worn by people on home detention.
    A new amount in the coming year, as funds were shifted around, allows $523 to be spent for interpreters.

Jerry D. Feasby Sr.

    Jerry D. Feasby Sr., 68, of Monroeville, died at 9:30 p.m. Thursday in Vibra Hospital in Fort Wayne following an illness of three weeks.
    He was born on December 3, 1943, in Van Wert County, Ohio, to Willis K. and Mrytle M. Baker Feasby, who are deceased.
    He married Sharon S. Putman on August 6, 1983, in Monroeville; she survives.

Mary K. Grabner

    Mary Kathryn Grabner, 90, a lifelong resident of Monroeville, died at 3:10 a.m. Thursday in her residence following an illness of six months.
    She was born on October 30, 1921, in Monroeville to Clarence J. and Elizabeth C. Westrick Beauchot.
    She married Donald D. Grabner on July 28, 1945, in Fredericksburg, Virginia; he survives. They celebrated 66 years of marriage this year.
    Mary was secretary-treasurer of the Monroeville School for 22 years, from 1959 to 1981.
