Decatur's annual Kekionga Festival, larger this year than ever before, officially starts this Friday with a citywide garage sale.
The garage sale will continue on Saturday, when two other events are scheduled: a Riley Children's Hospital benefit at the Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie on S. 11th St. and a car show at The Bridge church, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.

A Decatur man sentenced to 90 years in prison for child molestation lost his appeal to the Indiana Court of Appeals, the Daily Democrat learned this morning.
Andrew E. Stetler, 33, was given three consecutive 30-year sentences last December for two counts of child molestation and for being a habitual offender.
Robert A. "Bob" Flowers, 51, of Bluffton, passed away at 6:42 a.m. on Wednesday, August 15, 2012, at his residence.
He was born on February 21, 1961, to Roger L. and Karen J. (Markley) Flowers.
On September 29, 1979, he married Judith A. (Boots) Flowers in Markle; she survives in Bluffton.
Bob was a 1979 graduate of Bluffton High School and was the owner/operator of Kousins Kustom Kars since 1989. He was a member of St. Luke Church and Markle Church of Christ.
Florence T. Koors, 89 of Decatur, died Wednesday, August 15, 2012, at Village of Heritage in Monroeville.
Florence was born in Decatur on October 24, 1922, to the late Joseph A. and Bernardine M. (Heideman) Geimer.
On February 12, 1946, she married John P. Koors; he preceded her in death on December 26, 2011.
Florence was a member of St. Mary of the Assumption Catholic Church and its Rosary Society. She also worked for Leland Smith as an Insurance Clerk.
James Singleton, 71, of Decatur, passed away at 11:10 p.m. on Monday, August 13, 2012, in the Van Wert Community Health Professionals Hospice.
James married Oleta Garrett in Texas on November 17, 1960; she passed away on February 15, 2005.
He was a member of the Pleasant Mills United Methodist Church and retired from Dana Corporation in Fort Wayne after 41 years of service.
Brian Hakes, an all-state baseball and football player during his recently-concluded career at Bellmont High School, has accepted a scholarship to play baseball at Indiana Tech in Fort Wayne.
A three-year starter as both a catcher and third baseman for the Braves, Hakes led the team in most offensive categories the past two seasons.
He also was named all-state in hockey as a member of Team Indiana after playing four seasons in the Fort Wayne high school league as well as on several travel teams.
Martha G. Gierhart, 89, of Berne, died Monday at Chalet Village Health and Rehabilitation in Berne.
A Geneva native, she married Paul L. Gierhart, who preceded her in death.
She is survived by a son, Virg Gierhart, of Bryant.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday at Downing and Glancy Funeral Home in Geneva. Burial will follow in the Riverside Cemetery, Geneva. Visitation is 1-2 p.m. Thursday.

Arrangements are pending at Haggard-Sefton & Hirschy Funeral Home.
Robert D. "Robbie" Logan, 47, of Fort Wayne, died Sunday at his residence.
There will be a private family service.
