Scott D. Brown, 48, of rural Convoy, Ohio, died Friday in Van Wert County, Ohio
He was born in Decatur on August 26, 1963, to Marvin D. and Rosemary M. Coyne Brown. His father is deceased; his mother lives in Van Wert, Ohio. Other survivors are a daughter, Ashley N. Brown of Delphos, Ohio; three sons, Travis S. Brown of Delphos and Bronson J. and Chandler D. Brown of Rockford, Ohio; and the mothers of his children: Paula I. Brown of Delphos and Leslie S. Shindeldecker of Rockford , Ohio.

They call him "The Matrix," but he's still known in Decatur as Evan DeLong, a graduate of Bellmont High School in 2007.
DeLong, 24, now of Fort Wayne, is in his fourth year as a professional fighter in mixed martial arts (MMA), with a pro record of 9-6 and a brief amateur record of 10-3.
Officials of the Adams County chapter of Love In the Name of Christ have announced that 32 more sponsors for local needy children are being sought for the annual Emmanuel Project.
The project, which provides Christmas gifts to needy children in the county, has 432 sponsors, but 464 children on the list, according to Claudia Karges, executive director of Love INC.
Any person, business, organization, church, etc. may be a sponsor. To apply, call Love INC (728-4503) as soon as possible, officials said.
Some members of the Fort Wayne Mad Ants basketball players and coaches put on a clinic for the youngsters in the local parks and recreation department's Biddie Basketball program on Sunday.
The youth were instructed on basic dribbling, passing, shooting, rebounding and slam-dunking skills. Mad Ants players also took the time to take photos with the kids and sign autographs.
ELKHART, Ind. (AP) — A former Indiana State Police post commander accused of stealing more than $91,000 in state money has pleaded guilty.
The Elkhart Truth reports that former state police Lt. Dallard Tackett pleaded guilty Monday to six counts of forgery, one count of official misconduct and 10 counts of theft in Elkhart Superior Court. Tackett admitted to misappropriating funds from the Toll Road Post between 2007 and 2010.
A special ceremony honoring the late John Friedt will be held Tuesday prior to the opening wrestling match of the season for Bellmont High School, against Columbia City.
A new wrestling mat honoring the contributions of Friedt will be dedicated after the starting lineups are introduced.
Friedt's wrestling shoes will be placed at center mat.
The 2011 Lunch Buddy of the Year Award from the Fort Wayne regional office of Big Brothers/Big Sisters has been awarded to Dan Kintz of Decatur, a Big Brother in Adams County since 1996.
An announcement from the BB/BS staff says Kintz was honored for his years of volunteer service and was selected from more than 1,800 such people in 13 northeastern Indiana counties.
This is the second high BB/BS honor that Kintz has received: the first was in 2000 when he was named Big Brother of the Year for Indiana.
Two events to open the Christmas season in downtown Decatur have been scheduled for Sunday, November 27.
From 2-4 p.m., a free gingerbread cookie-decorating contest will be held at Marko's On Second, a restaurant at 135 S. Second St.
Prizes will be awarded each age group, treats will be available for everyone, and Santa Claus will visit.
