Rev. Harry R. Reiners, 91, Berne, passed away Saturday, Jan. 25, 2014, at Swiss Village, where he was a resident.
He was born in St. Paul, Minn., June 18, 1922, to Raymond and Audrey (Jauss) Reiners in St. Paul, Minn. He married the late Elizabeth "Beth" Oesau June 1, 1949.
Michael P. Rapp 61, Decatur, passed away Saturday, Jan. 25, 2014, at Lutheran Hospital in Fort Wayne.
He was born in Springfield, Ohio, Oct. 15, 1952, to the late Clarence and Phyllis (Pollock) Rapp. He married Carla J. Smitley Aug. 17, 1978; she survives.
Mike attended Grace Fellowship Church and was a member of the American Legion Post 43. Mike was employed at E.P.C. in Geneva. He served his country in the United States Army.
Sister Irene Lengerich, CSA, formerly, Sister Mary Theodore, died peacefully Jan. 24, 2014, at St. Francis Home in Fond du Lac, Wis.
Irene was born June 30, 1917, in Decatur, to the late Theodore and Josephine Bentz Lengerich. Irene had three brothers and seven sisters, two of whom were also Sisters of St. Agnes.
Dwight L. Hirschy, 76, Decatur, passed away Jan. 25, 2014, at Adams Memorial Hospital.
He was born July 28, 1937, to the late Amos and Rosalene (Marsh) Hirschy. He married Doris Coon Aug. 1, 1959; she survives.
Eileen R. Stauffer, 91, Berne, died Monday.

Incumbent clerk Gayla Reinhart is barred by term limits from seeking a third consecutive term.
Five inches of fresh weekend snow, blowing winds and bone chilling temperatures are once again wreaking havoc on the Adams County area.
The National Weather Service issued a winter weather advisory for most of northeast Indiana and northwest Ohio effective until 1 p.m. this afternoon. Strong winds gusting to around 35 mph Sunday caused considerable blowing and drifting snow, according to the NWS. Winds gradually diminished throughout the day, however secondary roads may still be impassable.
Jeremy Gilbert, operations manager for the city of Decatur, said his department’s snow plow operators hit the streets early Sunday “and were out all day.” “We were doing real well Sunday keeping ahead of things until early evening, then the winds picked up and we lost all the ground we had gained. But that’s the way it goes,” Gilbert said this morning.

Shirley Hawkins, 71, Fort Wayne and a former longtime resident of Decatur, passed away at 10:30 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 22, 2014, in the Summit City Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Fort Wayne.
Shirley was born Wednesday, April 22, 1942, in Hutchinson, Kans., the daughter of the late Earl and Dolly (Jennings) Green. She married the late Charles Hawkins April 1, 1972, in Great Bend, Kans.; he passed away Dec. 4, 2000.
