Adams County Attorney Mark Burry informed the board of county commissioners recently that County Treasurer Tom Krueckeberg will hold a tax certificate sale on properties with delinquent and outstanding taxes beginning at 9 a.m. on April 25 in the commission/council chambers of the Service Complex.
Burry said the county had conducted a tax sale last November on those same properties, and some of the properties sold at that time.
Brian Strauss, former middle school principal at South Adams Schools, was taken into custody Friday on a charge of sexual misconduct with a former 15-year-old student.
According to the Michigan City News Dispatch, Strauss, 40, pleaded guilty to the charge and was sentenced in LaPorte County Circuit Court to a 16-year prison term. Under the terms of a negotiated plea agreement 13 years of the sentence were suspended and three years are to be served on general order probation.
Strauss also may no longer be employed as a teacher, the newspaper reported.

FORT WAYNE—The Bellmont girls track team served notice Saturday they not only expect to repeat as the indoor state champions in the small school division but that they'll be in the hunt for the IHSAA state title in early June in Bloomington.
