"It was definitely, by far, my biggest win," stated South Adams senior LJ Moser, after knocking off No. 1 rated Schuyler Phillips of Yorktown, 3-1, in the 120-pound Jay County Regional Wrestling championship match Saturday.
"I was so nervous with 20 seconds left on the clock. I'm thinking, this is the state runner-up and he's ranked first, and I just have to hold on, and I was able to do it."

Bellmont held South Adams scoreless in the first quarter en route to a 35-21 victory at the Teepee on Friday night.

A nearly flawless first 10 minutes of the game Tuesday night at the Teepee found the Bellmont Braves with a huge 17-point lead over a shell-shocked Concordia Cadet team at 27-10 with 6:55 to play.
Unfortunately, however, as the Braves found out, basketball is not a 10-minute game at the varsity level but is a 32-minute affair and the Cadets righted their ship enroute to a 71-47 decision over the Braves in non-conference action.
Bellmont could do virtually no wrong in the opening stanza.
INDIANAPOLIS—The IHSAA released the sectional draws for girls basketball throughout Indiana on Sunday night including the three Adams County squads.
Bellmont’s 3A sectional will be hosted by Mississinewa this year, while the Lady Jets and Lady Stars will play their post-season games at Bluffton.
The teams favored in each of those sectionals include the Norwell Knights (17-3) in the Squaws’ sectional and Bishop Luers who are on AC and SA’s radar as the team to beat.

PORTLAND — Though Bellmont rallied to within five points of favored Adams Central after two rounds, the Jets closed ranks and put the tourney away in the wrestlebacks and rolled to a 40-point win to break Bellmont's 22-year sectional win skein Saturday at Jay County.
