August 25, 2014

BHS volleyball downs Woodlan

August 22, 2014

WOODBURN— Like Bishop Dwenger a few nights before, the Woodlan Warriors never really got into a rhythm against the Bellmont Squaws who rolled to another 3-0 sweep Thursday night, 25-10, 25-15, 25-6.
Bellmont, now 2-0 on the year, took the lead at 3-2 in the first game on a kill from Saige Jauregui, then an ace from Erika MacDowell and never trailed in the match again.
“The first and third set we really took advantage and dictated the tempo,” noted coach Craig Krull.

Squaws open net season with sweep of Dwenger

August 19, 2014

Bellmont volleyball opened up their season on Tuesday night with a three-set shellacking of the Bishop Dwenger Saints at the Teepee, 25-16, 25-6, 25-16.
The Squaws seemed a bit flat on the service return and fell behind 3-0 early before a missed serve gave them their first point. Senior Janaya Wilder had back-to-back kill blocks at the net to tie the game at 3-3 but Dwenger kept the Squaws on their heels through the first half of the set.
