Kalver joins the wrestling Hall...again

    The Indiana High School Wrestling Coaches Association Hall of Fame announced recently that WZBD broadcaster A.J. Kalver will be this year's inductee as the media person of the year at the annual postseason banquet.
    This is the first time that the IHSWCA media distinction award has been presented to a radio broadcaster.
    Kalver is already in the IHSWCA Hall as a coach, having been inducted in 2011.

The Arizona Wildcats traveled to Tempe to face in state rival Arizona State for what they expected to be an easy game. Arizona State came into the game at the bottom of the PAC 12 at 3-6 in conference play. The Sun Devils came out firing as they shot 50% from the field (26/52) and 46.7% from 3 (7/15). Guard Bo Barnes paced the Sun Devils with 18 points including a perfect 8 for 8 from the charity stripe.

Tonight the Stars and Squaws end their regular season at Bellmont in a county-rivalry game that doubles as the Squaws' senior night. Farlow leads Stars in swim sectional prelims

CADY’S MISSION— South Adams’ swimmer Cady Farlow helped the Starfires place first in the preliminaries of Thursday night’s sectional swim at Jay County taking gold seeding in the 100 Free and part of the 400 Free Relay race. With Jay County seeded first in nine of the 12 events, South Adams is second and right on their heels with silver seedings in the Breaststroke, Backstroke, Butterfly, Individual Medley, and the 200 Medley Relay race. Lady Stars use hot shooting to silence Lady Eagles, 56-35

    BERNE— Sydney Wills scored 24 points on a scorching 9-12 effort from the floor including six three-pointers to pace the South Adams Lady Starfires to a lopsided 56-35 victory over the Churubusco Eagles on Thursday night.
    The Stars produced a 19-4 advantage in the first quarter against the Eagles who came into the contest riding a four-game winning streak but the loss put them to 11-9 on the season.
