Beat the Pros Challenge: Friday 2nd round

       A day after the upsets made waves in the NCAA tournament, 15 of the 16 Friday games were won by higher seeds bringing a bit of sanity back to the bracket world. After the second round of play, there are a few brackets with 28 out of 32 games correct and they belong to Mary Nilsen and Jim Pollock. 

      Games played on Saturday and Sunday for the round of 32 will be recorded and graded on Monday. Results will be posted Monday afternoon. Keep track of how your bracket stacks up!

Beat the Pros Challenge: Thursday 2nd round

    It was one of the craziest second round starts in recent memory left many NCAA brackets busted heading into Friday's action. After the first 16 games there are two brackets with 14 points (out of 16) and they belong to Ricardo Torres and another without a name! There are also a few with 13 points but the majority of brackets are within the 12-9 point range. Friday's games will be listed online Saturday afternoon. Below are the current standings.

Five county ballers land on ACAC lists

    Competing in their final ACAC basketball season, the Leo Lions were awarded three first-teamers and a second team entry on the all-conference lists.
    Boasting a 7-0 mark in the ACAC before moving on to the NHC in the 2015-16 season, the Lions placed seniors David Hardin and Adam Davison as well as junior Dylan Barrow on the first team with junior Kray Klopfenstein on the second team.

Manley signs with Goshen

MANLEY SIGNS WITH GOSHEN— Adams Central senior Meghan Manley signed her Letter of Intent last week to play collegiate volleyball for Goshen College. Friedt, Becker named All-state academic at banquet

At the annual Bellmont wrestling team dessert held earlier this week, Bellmont head wrestling coach Brent Faurote announced that squad members Carter Friedt and Joe Becker earned Academic All-State honors.
Becker, a senior who earned his way to semi-state this year, was named First Team Senior Academic All-State in wrestling, while Friedt was named Second Team Junior Academic All-State.

Bellmont pushes through with locker room building plan

    The North Adams Athletic Fund Community was granted $2250.00 from the Adams County Community Foundation that enables the planning for the first project, the Bellmont Stadium Locker Room Complex. The money was used to fund a portion of the design work for this project.

     Kentucky went about business as usual. They beat an in conference foe thoroughly as they should. Karl Anthony towns had 13 points and 9 rebounds as they Wildcats finished their first undefeated regular season in program history.

Rims go cold for Bellmont; Norwell advances to final, 59-28

COLUMBIA CITY— The last of the three county schools fell in boys basketball sectional semi-finals action Friday night as the Bellmont Braves had no answer on offense or defense against cross-county rival Norwell, 59-28.
Behind the impressive shooting of senior Ian Kissell, the Knights outscored the Braves by a gaudy 22-2 score after the first eight minutes of play.

Ysidron, Petersen sign with Bethel
