MONROEVILLE— Co-ACAC regular season champions Leo and Adams Central met up poetically in the conference championship at Heritage on Thursday night in a three set battle that was a fitting farewell in the Lions' final season.
The Lions, despite the best efforts of the Lady Jets, held on to win the title in a dramatic, come from behind win, 25-22, 12-25, 23-25.
On a cold and blustery day (mixed with a little sleet) at Cross Creek Golf Club, the hometown guys from CC defended their Adams County Cup title, scoring a hard fought 17-13 victory against the Golf Club of the Limberlost.
KINGSLAND— Despite less than ideal conditions on a breezy, cold and damp Saturday morning, Bellmont took care of the Huntington North Vikings in the tennis sectional championship at Norwell, 4-1.
The title is the Braves' fourth in school history and first since the 2006 season. Bellmont had fallen to Adams Central in the championship the last two seasons and finally pushed for the championship after besting the Jets and the Bluffton Tigers, 4-1, as well.
Tonight the Braves travel to New Haven for another NHC clash on the gridiron. Tune in around 6:45 p.m. for the DDD Pregame Show. Go Braves!
BERNE—County rivals Adams Central and South Adams collided on the volleyball court of the Stardome Thursday night in ACAC action and it was the Flying Jets that prevailed in three straight games, 25-12, 25-12, 25-14.

KINGSLAND— It took four sets for Adams Central to find their groove on a sluggish, Monday night volleyball contest, but in set five the Lady Jets dominated Norwell on the road to earn a big non-conference victory 25-20, 25-22, 24-26, 24-26, 15-4.
