     New Orleans took over sole possession of first place in the NFC South, as running back Mark Ingram continued his strong season as he ran for 100+ yards and 2 touchdowns. The New Orleans defense was able to stymy Carolina QB Cam Newton, who was 10-28 passing for 151 yards.

BHS volleyball ends stellar season in final four round

    MONTICELLO— The last of the incredibly successful girls fall sports has fallen over the weekend with the Squaws volleyball team bowing out in the state's final four level.
    For the third time this season, the #2-ranked Concordia Lutheran Cadets bested Bellmont, this time in four sets Saturday night in the semi-state final match 25-11, 25-11, 25-27, 25-16.

Squaws win all four sectional titles!

SQUAW POWER!!!—For the first time in school history, every fall girls sport at Bellmont was victorious in bringing home a sectional crown this season. What started as the first girls golf sectional title won outright turned into the soccer team earning their fifth crown, then the cross country team’s ninth sectional on the same day. With the Squaws’ vollleyball team capturing their 31st crown at Mississinewa (10th in a row), Bellmont completed the quad-fecta of successful female teams this fall. (Photo by Dylan Malone)

Bellmont brings 11 to NHC soccer team lists

    The Northeast Hoosier Conference has released lists for both boys and girls all-conference soccer this week as the Braves place four members and the Squaws add seven from their roster.
    Finishing in the middle of the conference pack at 4-3, the Braves were represented by just one player on the first team, sophomore standout Joel Harvey, who is listed as a midfielder along with Carroll's Kyle Hoagland, Homestead's Tyler George, and DeKalb's Brad Lancaster on the first team.

Squaws win 10th straight title

    MISSISSINEWA--The scalding hot hand of senior Janaya Wilder led Bellmont to a sweep of No. 9 Mississinewa in the semi-finals, and a more balanced effort was on display Saturday afternoon as the No. 7 Squaws dispatched Heritage in three to claim a 10th straight IHSAA 3A Sectional volleyball championship for the school.

Squaws sweep CC in tourney opener

    GAS CITY —  Bellmont took step No. 1 on its mission to win a 10th straight sectional crown Thursday, sweeping past Columbia City while host Mississinewa improved to 28-2 with a rout of Norwell in the opening round of the 3A Volleyball Sectional.
    "A win is a win at this point, and that's the No. 1 goal. Whatever it takes to win, fine, and you can't be unhappy even with an ugly win," stated veteran coach Craig Krull, who has coached the Squaws to state titles in two of the last seven years.

Braves eye semi-state run Saturday

Meyer to make Ireland trip

ON TO THE IRISH PITCH— Former Bellmont and University of Saint Francis standout, Sam Meyer, is making the trip to Dublin, Ireland in January to attend a high-profile soccer combine that will feature some of the best and brightest upcoming talent in the sport. Sam’s goal is to become a professional soccer player and the 10-day showcase tour will have scouts from several different leagues searching for impact players to sign to their squads. Go Sambo!
