MONROE — With both teams coming off of two-game losing streaks in ACAC play last week, it was the Adams Central defense that closed the door on South Adams Friday night late at the Hangar as the Jets came away with a 32-22 win coming from behind after a halftime deficit.

Bellmont posted an impressive sweep of the Carroll Chargers on Thursday night at the Teepee improving to 3-0 in the conference and knocking off the team that had the best chance of beating the Squaws this season.
Tonight's contest between NHC rival Carroll and the Bellmont Squaws will begin at approximately 6 p.m. with the JV contest. Pre-game coverage will begin around 6:20 and the match's broadcast will start roughly two minutes before the opening varsity serve.

BRENTWOOD, TN — Eastern Illinois sophomore Marah Bradbury nabbed her third career Ohio Valley Conference 'Setter of the Week' award this week as she helped lead Panther volleyball to runner-up team honors at the KSU Golden Flashes Classic last weekend.
The Decatur native dished out a season-high 53 assists and hit .833 (5-of-6, with zero errors) in EIU's four-set victory over Binghamton, as Eastern also swept Midwest foe Illinois-Chicago before falling to host Kent State in the championship match.
FORT WAYNE—Fremont and Bellmont dominated the action in the annual girls Blackhawk Christian Cross Country Invitational Tuesday with the Eagles sweeping spots two through six to win the event with just 20 points in a six-team field.
The coveted top position, however, went to Bellmont's Bailey Beery who had no problems in going on cruise control to win by 2:11 over Fremont's Makenna Cade (18:49 to 21:00).
BLUFFTON — Adams Central tennis finished off their regular season sweep of all sectional opponents they may face at Norwell on October 2 when they handed the Bluffton Tigers a 5-0 beating on Monday night on the road.
Andy Oliver had the match of the night against Bluffton's Aaron Sturgeon defeating the number three singles player in three sets 7-6 (7-5), 4-6, 2-6.
Congratulations to this week's top three Pigskin Pickers for getting the least amount wrong for week three of the contest, Lori McGill, Darlene Sheets, and Michael McGill. The tie-breaker score was 47 points this week with the ties settled in the standings by the closest guesses.
BLUFFTON — For the second year in a row, Bellmont has put girls golf on the radar in Indiana advancing to regionals with a third place finish Saturday at Timberridge Golf Course.
The Squaws took the bronze medal with a team score of 368 qualifying as the last team to advance with Homestead winning the sectional outright with a score of 359 and Canterbury taking second at 365.
"We all played great and the girls should be very proud!" exclaimed BHS coach Andy Heim after the sectional finish.
