Pigskin Picks, week eight results

October 28, 2013

It must have been a game of predictable finishes this week as six contestants (two celebrity picks included) held a perfect score with the tie-breaker resolving the top three prize winners. This week's NFL game between Atlanta and Arizona was the tie-break game with the total score tallying 40 points. Sal Jauregui and Patricia Ketron each were two away from the score of 40 but the lower score breaks the second tie-breaker crowning Sal this week's champion! Kris McGill was third place and in the prizes.

October 26, 2013

SOUTH WHITLEY—A monster 28-0 start propelled the Braves to a 35-13 stroll into the sectional semi-finals on Friday night over the Whitko Wildcats on the road.
"Our schedule prepared us for this," Bellmont coach Larry Getts noted after the win. "These guys were co-champs in their conference but we played some 6A and 4A schools in ours. We picked up a good win against a good team but we definitely felt prepared with the tough conference games we played."

October 25, 2013

MONROEVILLE—While crowd management was a big issue at Heritage on Thursday night, the Squaws quietly engaged a motivated Columbia City team in the opening round of sectionals managing a sweep in three sets 25-23, 26-24, 25-21.
Bringing signs and an abundance of support for the team, students from Bellmont were forced to sit in the Eastbrook section of the gym due to Norwell fans hanging around to see their future opponent for tomorrow as they were the winners of the first match.
