MONROE—The Lady Jets improved to 14-6 on the season with an 11-1 win over the Lady Raiders at home on Monday night in a game that lasted just five innings.
With a 10-1 lead in the bottom of the fifth, the Lady Jets needed just one run to end the game in a 10-run mercy rule. They would get that one run on just one swing of the bat when Bess Fiechter singled, then stole second and third before reaching home on a wild pitch for the game-ending run.
MONROE—With one out in the bottom of the seventh, Jets' left fielder Matt Schwaller did what Adams Central has done well all season long, win games late.
Facing a full count and a 0-0 score, Schwaller blasted a walk-off solo homerun to lift the Jets to a victory over the visiting Churubusco Eagles, 1-0, in game one of their doubleheader.
The Braves ended their four-game losing skid on Friday night as they hosted the Huntington North Vikings from 4A.
Bellmont ended their offensive woes in a big way earning an 11-1 victory over the Vikings in a six-inning affair that was closed by three Braves' runs in the bottom half of the last inning.
MONROE—A six-run second inning fueled by a Dalton Combs grand-slam propelled the Flying Jets to a 12-4 ACAC victory over county-rival South Adams on Thursday night at the Hangar.
The Jets soared over the Stars thanks to their offense that had been stifled slightly in their last few victories but broke out in a big way with 13 hits including two homeruns.

DeKalb brought their shovels with them on Wednesday night as the offense buried the Squaws for 18 hits and 11 runs in an NHC clash at the Teepee, 11-1.
In all, 44 batters came to the plate against Bellmont. The Lady Barons started hot right from the start as Maddy Fifer belted a single to centerfield that set the tone.
The Barons were hitting the ball hard all over the diamond against the Squaws and the game would have gotten even further out of hand had DeKalb not stranded so many runners on base (12).
NEW HAVEN—Bellmont put runners on base in every inning on the road against the New Haven Bulldogs on Tuesday night but could not quite get the big time plays to get on the scoreboard and the home team earned a 7-0 victory.
Heading into the bottom of the sixth frame, the Bulldogs held firm to a 2-0 advantage over the Braves during the NHC meeting but five big runs on five hits against starter Matt Chronister broke the game wide open.
The Bellmont softball team trailed 3-0 after just two innings against visiting New Haven on Monday, and didn't have enough oomph to overcome the Lady Bulldogs in a 4-2 loss.
Bellmont got off to a rough start in the first, giving up two runs on two hits. Squaws pitcher Janaya Wilder walked the first New Haven batter, and threw one past the plate.
MONROE—The returning champion Lady Jets hosted this season’s ACAC tournament on Friday and Saturday along with South Adams, Leo, and Bluffton.
With the completion of the regular season ACAC schedule, Leo already earned the team championship with a perfect 3-0 mark, while the Lady Jets took second at 2-1, Bluffton third at 1-2, and the Starfires finishing last at 0-3.
