Braves’ “O” too much for Knights despite Harnish TDs

September 14, 2013

KINGSLAND—Bellmont used a balanced attack to neutralize the Norwell offense on Friday night at the Courtyard nabbing a convincing 49-28 victory over the Knights.
Norwell's homecoming was thwarted by the Braves from the opening drive as the disruptive Bellmont squad posted 557 yards of offense on the night including a career high 187 yards passing from sophomore quarterback Jordan Amacker who looked more comfortable throwing the football.

Charger hitters scramble AC at the net; Carroll wins 3-1

September 10, 2013

FORT WAYNE—A spirited third set by the Lady Jets was not enough to salvage a faulty first two frames as Adams Central fell 3-1 on the road at Carroll Monday night, 25-18, 25-19, 25-15, 25-16.
The Chargers, one of Bellmont's fiercest rivals from 4A, looked sharp in their opening first set jumping out to a 9-2 start before the Lady Jets managed their first kill of the game off the hands of Abbey Lichtle. A combination of some out of character errors by AC and Carroll's quick start were the culprits.

SPENCERVILLE, OHIO—Two long-time girls cross country records fell by the wayside Saturday as Bellmont and South Adams participated in the Spencerville Bearcat Cross Country Invitational.
Bellmont coach Carl Risch had predicted that sophomore speedster Bailey Beery would probably break the BHS school record at some point this year and Beery didn't wait long as she pounded out a blistering 18:38.6 on the certified Spencerville course to win the race over 146 other runners.
