Braves stun Homestead, 14-13; PAT in OT game-winner

September 20, 2013

    It all happened in 1995.
OJ Simpson was found innocent, the Oklahoma City bombing devastated the country, and the DVD was announced.
What local Adams County buffs may remember to be just as significant, however, was the last time that Bellmont defeated Homestead on the gridiron.
On a rainy, slippery field at Worthman Stadium, the Bellmont Braves pulled out an unlikely upset of the juggernaut Homestead Spartans in overtime, 14-13, a feat that had not occurred in 17 years of football.

NEW HAVEN — The Squaws put up a sweep against the fiesty New Haven Bulldogs on the road Thursday night winning 25-15, 25-13, 15-15.
The conference win felt more like a tune-up game for tomorrow's tournament in Ohio where they will face Henry Clay and Gilmore Academy in their pool. Based on the outcome of pool B, Bellmont could face Adams Central for a second time this season.

Blackhawk dismisses Lady Stars despite third set effort

September 17, 2013

FORT WAYNE—The young Lady Starfires fell on the road Monday night to a fundamentally sound Blackhawk Christian in a three-game sweep 25-13, 25-8, 26-24.
South Adams nabbed the first point of the game on a kill from Cady Farlow but simply looked sleepy after that in the first two sets.
