It came down to the final two matches, and the Jets’ Eli Hill at 106 and Andy Oliver at 113 pounds sealed the deal, delivering yet another championship into the hands of the Adams Central wrestling program as the host Jets downed Brownsburg 37-30 in the title match of the Adams Central Super Dual Saturday.
“The meet started at 120, so it came down to those final two matches and we had to win them both,” explained Adams Central coach Doug Schultz.
The Bellmont Braves earned the two wins they felt they had a shot at, beating Muncie South and Lawrence North, and made a real run at Mishawaka in a 39-33 loss Saturday at The Main Event super dual held at the BHS gym.
The state's top team the last three years, Perry Meridian, performed as expected, turning back a challenge of No. 5 Penn in a 31-19 win and going 5-0 on the day, as did No. 6 Bloomington South, which avenged a loss in the coaches state tourney to the Kingsman with a 29-17 decision.
