Columbia City scored more points from beyond the three-point line than the Braves did in the entire game in a blow out at the Teepee Friday night, 81-41 in favor of the Eagles.
It was a glimpse of just how talented the Northeast Hoosier Conference really is for Bellmont as Columbia City earned their first conference win and move to 12-1 on the season, while the Braves fall to 3-7 on the year including an 0-2 mark in the NHC.
FORT WAYNE — Bellmont lost three of the first four matches, including the first setback of the season for third-rated 182-pounder Brad Busse, then ran the table on the host Homestead Spartans, winning 10 straight Thursday night to secure a 59-13 NHC rout.
The Braves closed out the loop season at 5-2, while Homestead, led by first year coach Justin Wight, slipped to 2-5 in the league and 5-10 overall.
