MONROE- The ACAC regular season title was on the line at the Hangar on Tuesday night as the Lady Jets welcomed the Leo Lions.
A day removed from their loss at Norwell, Leo came out swinging as they put down the Jets in four sets 25-13, 25-18, 23-25, 25-21.
It might not have been a war, but when the final point was declared after a Norwell player got tangled up in the net, the Bellmont Squaws knew they at least had been in a battle with a team they could very well see again in a couple of weeks during the IHSAA sectional.

MONROE—Monday was Nathan Barger's time to shine.
Last season, the AC senior faced off against a Leo foreign exchange student who bested him in the regular season and in the ACAC tournament forcing Barger to settle for second place in the conference and ultimately the Jets lost their regular season title in a 3-2 decision.
Several season and career best times were posted by Bellmont cross country runners in the New Haven Invitational held at the Plex in Fort Wayne.
Both BHS teams finished in the top half of the competition in their division with both the Braves and Squaws taking eighth out of 19 teams. Adams Central and South Adams also competed on the day in both boys and girls races.
WARSAW—Bellmont shook off a heart-breaking loss to Carroll on Saturday by going undefeated at the Warsaw Invitational earning the championship over Lafayette Jeff in two sets.
Going 4-0 on the day, coach Craig Krull's Squaws were on a mission to avenge their loss to arch-rival Carroll and the field at Warsaw happened to be simply casualties of war starting with Southwood in Bellmont's opener, followed by rematches with North Side and Bishop Luers, and finally a win over Jeff in the final game.

BERNE—In a game that took nearly four hours to complete due to lightning, it was the final seven minutes that made the difference as the Jets scored twice to seal a win in Berne.
For the first time in five seasons, Adams Central knocked off the Starfires of South Adams in football with a win Friday at Starfield, 19-7.
FORT WAYNE—A 48-game conference winning streak came to an end on Thursday night at Carroll as the Squaws fell to the Lady Chargers in a five-set gem that lived up to the pre-game billing.
Bellmont stumbled out of the gate losing the first two sets before finding life in set three and squeaking out set four, only to let the fifth and deciding set slip through their fingers 25-21, 25-21, 25-10, 25-23, 15-11.

Senior Bellmont soccer player Meghan Schueler made history Monday night when she played all 11 positions in a single game during Bellmont's 6-0 win over New Haven.
Scheuler, who played defense her freshman and sophomore years, converted to midfield and forward last season scoring 12 goals, but on Monday the senior started the game at right wingback where she played the first 10 minutes. She then shifted to center midfield and helped her team to to two quick scores.

Bellmont hosted NHC rival New Haven on the soccer pitch Monday night allowing two late goals in the second half to the Bulldogs in a 4-2 loss.
The Braves had a slow start on the defensive end allowing two New Haven goals in the first 20 minutes but once settled down, Bellmont stopped the bleeding before halftime.
Andy Hess slipped a ball to Willie Mahlan who finished into the back of the net for Bellmont's first goal of the game just before the half to put the Braves within one at 2-1.
