Braves stumble at Dwenger

February 22, 2012

FORT WAYNE— Turnovers plagued the Bellmont Braves once more as they travelled to Bishop Dwenger to face a tough Saints squad and lost 71-43 on Tuesday night.
The Braves, now 4-15, are still working out some of the kinks in the rotation. Seniors Payton Selking, Nick Fuelling, and Logan Smith seem to be out of coach John Baker's doghouse for the time being as they played significant minutes last night after a string of games with sparse minutes sparked by a lackluster effort at DeKalb last week.

Starfires blow lead under a minute against Winchester

February 22, 2012

BERNE—It was South Adams Senior Night at the Stardome Tuesday night but it was a pair of seniors from Winchester that stole the show as the Starfires lost a heartbreaker to the Golden Falcons, 51-50.
Cody Woodbury and Connor Detweiler will both be players that South Adams coach Andy Browns and the Stars will be happy to see graduate in May as they combined to score 37 of the 51 Winchester points including a game-winning hoop with 6.2 seconds to play by Detweiler, his only two-point basket of the game.

Eight county grapplers want moment on podium

February 16, 2012

"We've really been trying to focus on not being content just making it to state. All the kids want to medal, especially Todd (Batt) who has been there twice and come up short both times," said South Adams Coach Eric Myers, who will take three wrestlers to Banker's Life Fieldhouse tomorrow night for the 74th running of the IHSAA State Wrestling Tournament.

AC pounds Southwood at Hangar

February 15, 2012

It only seems like that after AC's 14-2 squad ran off with a 70-48 decision on Tuesday over Southwood, the third game in a row won by more than 20 points.
