August 21st
The Squaws hosted the Lady Starfires on the soccer pitch Tuesday night and got a scare put into them when SA scored the first goal.
It would turn out to be their only score of the contest, as Bellmont put up six unanswered goals after that, three in each half, to defeat South Adams, 6-1 at the Teepee.
In a match that featured a "to be continued" Bellmont finally defeated the Bluffton Tigers, 3-2 on Monday night at the Teepee after initially starting the match on Thursday night.
Postponed due to rain, the Braves picked up right where they left off last night with the singles players picking up big wins.
August 19th
MONROE—For one game, at least, the Bellmont/Adams Central volleyball rivalry was as intensely close as advertised, but the Squaws found another gear and put the match away in the next three games to defeat the Lady Jets, 3-1 on Saturday night.
August 16th
Bellmont traveled to Star Field to take on South Adams in a cross-county battle of the pitch Thursday night and the trip proved to be beneficial for the Braves as they picked up their second win of the year in a 5-0 decision.
The score was 1-0 heading into halftime with the Stars very much in the mix, but coach Jake Briede's Braves kicked it into gear netting four more strikes before the final horn sounded.
Brian Hakes, an all-state baseball and football player during his recently-concluded career at Bellmont High School, has accepted a scholarship to play baseball at Indiana Tech in Fort Wayne.
A three-year starter as both a catcher and third baseman for the Braves, Hakes led the team in most offensive categories the past two seasons.
He also was named all-state in hockey as a member of Team Indiana after playing four seasons in the Fort Wayne high school league as well as on several travel teams.
August 14th
The Squaws renewed their quest for another state title on Tuesday night as they hosted the once formidable Bishop Dwenger Lady Saints at the Teepee.
While usually a tight match to start the season for Bellmont, Dwenger proved to be slightly less challenging for the Squaws as they were felled 25-10, 25-14, 25-18 in straight sets.
August 13th
South Adams opened their volleyball season at home last night with a contest against the Blackford Lady Bruins that ended in a four set win for the visitors spoiling new head coach Amie Sprunger's first match.
After losing the first set, 25-21, the Stars let set two fall away without a fight, 25-12. Coach Sprunger rallied the troops and SA came alive taking the third set, 25-16, then fell, 29-27 in extra volleyball during the fourth set.

Bellmont's girls golf squad hosted seven teams for a match at Cross Creek Golf Course on Wednesday night and the result was storybook between the top three teams, all separated by one stroke.
