MARION—Bellmont's Alexis Harvey finished in the medal round of the 55 meter dash Saturday at the Hoosier State Relays held at Indiana Wesleyan University's Troyer Fieldhouse to be the only participant from Adams County to score.
Harvey posted a 7.51 speed in the finals for seventh place (the top eight advance to the final round) out of 29 runners who had qualified for the indoor state finals event.

After day one and 16 games completed, there are no perfect brackets out of 122 entries and only two public brackets have 15 out of 16 right.
Mason Selking and Brian Zeser are tied for first place at the moment with the only one mistake. There are several brackets with only two wrong.

Bellmont High School senior Brian Hakes has been named to the all-city hockey team by the Fort Wayne Area High School Hockey Association. Hakes, who plays for Bishop Dwenger, was one of two players selected to the first-team defense in voting by the league's coaches. He also was chosen an all-city defenseman last year when the team represented Fort Wayne North Side.
The BMS Braves wrestled in the Northeast Hoosier Middle Level Conference tournament last Thursday night. The Braves found themselves in first place by night's end with nine first placers, four seconds, two thirds, and four fourths.
The team dominated as they scored 443 points compared to Indian Springs' 312.5 points in second place. Carroll finished third with 247 points and DeKalb had 219 good enough for fourth. Maple Creek, Woodside, East Noble, Summit, New Haven, and then Norwell rounded off the final places.

ANDERSON — Bellmont junior sprinter Alexis Harvey earned a shot at the Indiana Girls Track Indoor State Finals with a school record 7.39 in the 55-meter dash Saturday in the annual Patriot Invitational at Anderson College as she qualified first out of that meet.
Harvey will be seeded fourth overall in the small school division. She placed fourth last spring in the IHSAA State Girls Track and Field 200 meter (outdoor) finals.
