South Adams volleyball coach Ashley Buckingham figures a program that has found victories hard to come by has to go back to the basics.
The 2010 Starfires were just 5-28 on the season and they were 0-8 in the ACAC but Buckingham asserts "we are continuing to build a new attitude in the volleyball program at South Adams. We might now have improved our record greatly last year but we did grow in our skill level and in turn gained respect from our opponents."
Blackford bested South Adams in girls' varsity and reserve golf on Monday. The Lady Bruin first team won, 201 to 207, and the JV team won, 266 to 276.
In varsity play, the Lady Starfires had these scores: Kristen Lehman, 46; Samantha Schwartz, 50; Kristal All, 53; Abbie Fisher, 58; and Alleigh Wingler, 61.
Blackford had a 46 by C. Weeks-Foy, 51 by Z. Mann, 52 by A. Morris and B. Jones, and 56 by S. Batten.
