FORT WAYNE — It was a big day for Ben Snider. It was a huge day for Troy Tonner.
The Adams Central juniors turned in some of the best performances of their lives as Tonner won both the shot and discus, setting the AC record in the latter, and Snider celebrated his first year in organized track with a third-place shot put finish and a ticket to regional.
"I'm blessed," stated a euphoric Tonner after a brief celebration with his friend and teammate Snider.
OSSIAN—Bellmont posted its second straight 5-0 win in as many nights and Adams Central avenged one of its four season losses Thursday night to assure an all-Adams County final in the IHSAA tennis sectional being held at Norwell High School.
Or as Bellmont tennis coach coach Tom Smith succinctly noted "we know AC and they know us. It should be a good match."
Bellmont pounded out its win with solid singles play while doubles combination continued to show improvement.
