Brian Hakes earns FW All-City hockey honors

March 9, 2011

Brian Hakes of Decatur has been named to the Coaches All-City Team of the Fort Wayne High School Hockey Association.
A junior at Bellmont High School, the 6-3, 205-pound Hakes was one of four defensemen chosen to the 12-player squad (10 skaters, 2 goalies). The team was selected by coaches of the six teams; they could not vote for their own players.

Baker earns 2nd team All-NHC honors

March 9, 2011

Senior guard Joe Baker was the only Bellmont player named to the All-NHC squad this year as he was put on the second team.
The 6'2" senior led the Braves with a 10.1 scoring average this season, easily the top scorer for the 4-18 Braves team.
Bellmont went 0-7 in the NHC, which didn't give coach Larry Patterson much leverage at the conference coaches meeting recently. Homestead won the conference with a 7-0 mark while Columbia City and Carroll both went 5-2 and Norwell 4-3.
