From the time Bellmont senior hitter Payton Schultz recorded the first point of the night with a tip kill to the moment she concluded the scoring in the third game with appropriately enough another tip kill, the Squaws showed the Wayne Generals no mercy in virtually coasting to an extremely easy 25-8, 25-8, 25-5 win on Senior Night at the Teepee.
The good news for the Bellmont boys cross country team is that they managed to score well enough to advance from the IHSAA cross country sectional they hosted Tuesday night to the regional at Marion this Saturday.
The Braves ended up fifth out of 11 teams (the top five advance to the regional) with 127 points despite the fact Bellmont senior Evan Boucher ran a 16:53.63 race that was good for third place out of 75 runners on the day.
Bellmont continued its tradition of advancing its girls cross country team out of the sectional and into IHSAA regional action Tuesday evening with the Squaws placing fourth to move on to regional action Saturday morning at Marion on the Indiana Wesleyan University course.

HARTFORD— The Lady Jets traveled all of the way to Blackford county to take on the Lady Bruins and were not disappointed as they came away with the win in exciting fashion. The scores were 26-24, 25-16, and 25-22 in favor of AC.
Adams Central came away with key points during the matches, but what ultimately did in the Lady Bruins of Blackford was too many unforced errors.

Based on past history, all three Adams County teams should be favored in the first week of IHSAA football sectional play.
South Adams is the only county school with a home game and they'll entertain the Golden Bears from Monroe Central, currently in just its second year of having a varsity team. Monroe Central went winless for the year in its initial campaign but has captured three games this year including a season-opening 20-19 win over Edinburgh of Johnson County.

GARRETT—Hannah Moore and Evan Liechty added another title to their stories cross country careers at South Adams Tuesday night as both runners claimed first place in the annual ACAC meet held at Garrett High School.
MONROEVILLE — Both the Lady Jets and the Lady Starfires once again found a way to make it interesting in the opening match of the ACAC volleyball tournament Tuesday night, but ultimately put away the Bluffton Lady Tigers and Southern Wells Lady Raiders each in two sets in their respective matches.
Heritage hosted the event and would later play the Woodlan Lady Warriors after the AC-Bluffton match-up. In the Jets' contest, AC managed to hold on to the first set with a gritty 25-21 score despite losing at one point 13-18.

OSSIAN—Adams Central had a shot at claiming the IHSAA tennis sectional championship Saturday at Norwell after blanking county rival South Adams 5-0 in the semi-finals in the morning, but fell 4-1 to the host Knights in the afternoon title match.
Norwell, which had defeated Bellmont recently by a 3-2 count in a dual meet, repeated that same score with wins coming in the same three events again on Saturday in the other semi-final round to make sure the defending sectional champs would not repeat.
