An inspired Bellmont volleyball squad answered the challenge of a game Western team to close out the first two games, then put away the Panthers with dominating power in the third game, 25-9, to earn the 12th regional championship for BHS Tuesday in front of the largest crowd of the season at the Teepee.
The Daily Democrat Cowboys remained perfect Saturday, defeating the Burkhalter Plumbing and Heating Bengals 14-0 in the DFL championship game played at Bob Worthman Stadium.
The Cowboys finished at 5-0 for the year and did not yield a touchdown the entire season. The Bengals moved the ball inside the Cowboys five-yard line in the final period, but lost the ball on a fumble.
