Adams Central took care of business Thursday night in the opening round of Sectional 37 (2A) Volleyball play, handling Bluffton in straight games, 25-10, 25-11, and 25-13.
Senior Hali Wendel was her dominant self,, whacking in 18 kills with two blocks and 12 digs, and setter Alyssa Keller was busy with 30 assists, eight digs and five kills, plus an ace and a block.
In one of the strongest soccer conferences in the state, Bellmont's players earned five slots overall, including a first-team position for junior forward Alex Hammond as the Northeast Hoosier Conference announced it's All-NHC team this week.
"It was great to get five all-conference awards. The other three Bellmont players who got votes were all very close to making it too," said BHS coach Bill Meyer.
