Virginia L. Braun

    Virginia L. “Ginny” Braun, 83, of Decatur, went to her heavenly home on Wednesday, May 22, 2013.
    Ginny was born February 14, 1930, in Monroeville, to the late Frank and Frances (Vizard) Cagnet.
    On November 4, 1950, she married Eugene A. Braun; he survives in Decatur.

Larry A. Toole

    Larry A. Toole, 47, passed away May 22, 2013, at his residence in Chestertown, Md.,
    Larry graduated from Bellmont HIgh School in 1983. He served seven years in the Army.
    Among survivors are his parents, Gerald (Jerry) and Mary Jo Toole of Decatur; companion, Georgia Picard of Chestertown, Md.; brother, Gary (Diana) Toole of Bellville, Mich.; sister, Lori (Mark) Einfalt of Pflugerville, Texas; and four nieces and nephews, Riley, Kelsey, and Connor Einfalt, and Roland Toole.

Velma S. Zelt

    Velma S. Zelt, 98, of Fort Wayne, formerly of rural Decatur, passed away Wednesday, May 22, 2013, at Visiting Nurse & Hospice Home.
    Velma was born on August 22, 1914, in New Haven to the late John D. and Julia L. (Bradtmiller) Hemsoth.
    On May 22, 1937, she married Alfred H. Zelt; he tragically died on November 17, 1952.

    Marie I. Rupp, 95, Berne, died Tuesday at Swiss Village.
    Among survivors are four daughters, Nancy (Don) Sharp of Berne, Lois (Terry) Guerin of Van Buren, Sarah (Ron) Luginbill of Peru, and Rebecca (Benny) Sgaggero of Mapletown, R.I.; and two sons, David "Larry" (Jean) Rupp of Berne and Peter (Colleen) Rupp of Berne.
    Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. Friday at Yager-Kirchhofer Funeral Home, and 9:30-10:30 a.m. Saturday at Springhill Church, rural Berne.

    Ruth Nicodemus, 90, of Decatur, passed away at 4:10 a.m. on Tuesday, May 21, 2013, at her residence.
    Ruth was born Monday, January 8, 1923, in Adams County to the late Frank and Allie (Myers) Knittle.
    She married Noble Nicodemus on September 16, 1950, in Decatur; he survives.
    Ruth was a member of St. Mark's United Methodist Church in Decatur and American Legion Auxillary Post 43. Ruth was a homemaker, and had worked at Decatur General Electric, Decatur Casting, CTS in Berne

Judith L. Doctor

    Judith L. Doctor, 68, of Fort Wayne, passed away at 5 a.m. on Sunday, May 19, 2013, at Parkview Regional Medical Center, following an 11-year battle with cancer.
    Judy was born on Thursday, August 10, 1944, in Decatur, to the late Edward L. Selking and Esther (Remenschneider) Selking, who survives.
    She married DeWayne Doctor on April 27, 1968, in St. John Lutheran Church-Bingen; he survives.

Melissa V. Lunn

    Melissa V. Lunn, 51, Pennville, died Friday at her home.
    Among survivors are her mother, Barbara, and stepfather, James Sprunger, of Bishopville, S.C.;a  son, Michael S. Lunn of Columbus, Ohio; and daughter, Crystal M. Lunn of Fort Wayne
    Visitation is from 3-8 p.m. today and 9:30-10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Yager-Kirchhofer Funeral Home.Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. Burial will follow in MRE Cemetery.

Dorothy M. Sutton

    Dorothy M. Sutton, 83, of Montpelier, died Thursday at her residence.
    Among survivors are two sons, Mike (Gyneth) Sutton of Berne and Steve (Barbara) Sutton of Montpelier, and a daughter, Judy (Wayne) Moore of Redkey.
    Visitation will be from 2-8 p.m. Tuesday and 10-11 a.m. Wednesday at Walker & Glancy Funeral Home in Montpelier. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. Burial will follow in Miller Cemetery in Poneto.

    Mark B. Walker, 90, Buffalo Junction, VA., died Friday. Survivors include a brother, Gerald (Nancy) Walker of Berne.
    Services were scheduled today  at the Buffalo Baptist Tabernacle.
