Gloria M. Kuhn

    Gloria M. Kuhn, 81, Berne, died Wednesday, May 21, 2014, at Woodcrest of Decatur.
    Survivors are a daughter, Nancy Kuhn of Berne; two sons, Gene (Tricia) Kuhn and Kurt Kuhn, both of Berne; a sister, Rosemary (Garth) Wiederkehr of Berne; a granddaughter, Carla (Joel) Miller of Decatur; and a great-grandson, Hudson Miller.
    Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at the Bethel Brethern Church, with Pastor Joe Nass officiating.
    Burial will be in MRE Cemetery, Berne.

Michael J. Magsamen

    Michael J. Magsamen, 62, Decatur, died Sunday, May 18, 2014, at Lutheran Hospital.
    Mike was born July 7, 1951, in Decatur, to the late Victor F. and Evelyn (Shaw) Magsamen.
    He married Vicki S. Zurcher March 19, 1977; she survives.
  Mike worked as a lineman, line crew supervisor and dispatcher for American Electric Power Co. He was a member of the Elks Lodge B.P.O.E. 993 and Moose Lodge 1311.

Josephine A. Jackson

    Josephine A. Jackson, 91, Decatur, died Sunday, May 18, 2014, at Woodcrest Nursing Center.    
    Josephine was born Aug. 22, 1922, in Christian County, Ill., to the late E. Guy and Teresa (Richardson) McBride.
    She married Richard L. Jackson June 23, 1945; he preceded her in death Sept. 19, 1991.

Joyce L. Heckman

    Joyce L. Heckman, 84, Decatur, passed away at 11:25 p.m. Monday, May 19, 2014, at Adams Memorial Hospital.
    She was born Saturday, Oct. 12, 1929, in Wells County, the daughter of the late Herman H. and  Esther E. (Graft) Werling. 
    She married Delmar Heckman June 5, 1949, at Zion Lutheran Church-Friedheim; he survives.
  Joyce was a member of the Zion Lutheran Church-Friedheim, the Lutheran Women’s Missionary League and the Altar Guild of the church. Joyce was a homemaker.

    John D. Black, 69, Decatur, died Sunday, May 18, 2014, at Woodcrest Nursing Center.
    Surviving are two daughters, Jodi (Kevin) Cook of Monroe and Chris (Gary) Cearns of Decatur; a brother, Terry (Darlene) Black of Decatur; five grandchildren, Crystal (Aaron) Harvey, Laura Cook, Sarah Cearns, Shalynn Cearns and Cody Cearns; three great-grandchildren, Anabelle and Parker Harvey and Jaxson Case; and his companion, Edith “Babe” Wheeler of Decatur.

    Ray Feaster, 93, Geneva, died Sunday, May 18, 2014, at Swiss Village Retirement Center in Berne. 
    Survivors include his wife, Eunice (Wilson) Feaster of Berne; two daughters, Leota (Doug) David and Janice Wolford, both of Geneva; a son, Alfred (Linda) Feaster Jr. of Berne; nine grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren and five great-great-grandchildren.
    Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. May 28, at Downing and Glancy Funeral Home, 100 N. Washington St., Gevena, with Wayne Steury officiating.

    Mary Jane Murchland, 86, Decatur, passed away Sunday, May 18, 2014, at Markle Health and Rehabilitation.
    She was born Sunday, May 29, 1927, in Adams County, the daughter of the late Harry Oren and Emily L (Bracht) Worden. 
    She married Eugene R. “Hugo” Murchland April 13, 1947, at the Salem United Church of Christ in Magley; he passed away March 6, 2014.
