Helen A. Newton, 87, Berne, formerly of Worthington, Mass., passed away Wednesday, April 24, 2013, at the Visiting Nurse and Hospice in Fort Wayne.
Loren U. Sprunger, 84, Berne, passed away Monday, April 22, 2013, at Swiss Village.
Loren was born in Adams County on July 2, 1928, to the late Menno and Mae (Stauffer) Sprunger.
He married Doris Dick on July 4, 1950; she preceded him in death.
Loren was a member of the West Missionary Church. Over the years he taught Sunday School and served as superintendent. He retired from Franklin Electric after 25 years of service.
April 25th
John Norval Fuhrman, 72, of New Brighton, Minn., formerly of the Decatur area, passed away April 21, 2013.
John graduated in 1959 from Monmouth High School.
Among survivors are his wife, Joyce Fuhrman, of New Brighton; five children; 12 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; a brother, Roy (Maryann) Fuhrman, of Denver, Colo.; brother-in-law, Robert Mernin; and many loving family and friends.
April 24th
Donald David Grabner, 90, of Monroeville, passed away at 9:45 p.m. Monday, April 22, 2013, at his residence.
Don was born on Friday, May 5, 1922, in Monroeville, to the late Grover C. and Leona (Leonard) Grabner.
He married Mary Kathryn Beauchot on July 28, 1945, in Fredericksburg, Va.; she passed away December 15, 2011.
Loren U. Sprunger, 84, Berne, died Monday at Swiss Village.
Among survivors are two daughters, Wanda (Steven) Roush of Indianapolis and Patti (Jeff) Kiel of Raleigh, N.C., and a son, Fred Sprunger of Berne.
Visitation will be from 4-9 p.m. Saturday and 12:30-1:30 p.m. Sunday at Swiss Village. Funeral services will be at 1:30 p.m. Sunday at Swiss Village.
Burial will follow in St. Luke's Cemetery, rural Decatur.
April 23rd
Alvera Eady, 86, of Decatur, died on Sunday, April 21, 2013, at Adams Memorial Hospital.
Alvera was born on June 28, 1926, in Wren, Ohio, to the late Alva and Dora (Mathewson) Cully.
On November 15, 1946, she married Theodore D. Eady; he passed away on November 6, 1989.

Darrel "Brownie" Brown, 92, of Berne, died this morning.

Alvera Eady, 86, of Decatur, died Sunday.

Russell L. Plumley, 77, of Monroeville, Ind., passed away on Saturday, April 20, 2013, at his residence.
He was born Monday, June 17, 1935, in Van Wert, Ohio, to the late Dewey and Esther (Johnson) Plumley.
Russell married Dorcas E. Sautbine on September 4, 1954; she passed away on October 4, 2006.
Robert L. Litwiller, 78, Berne, passed away Thursday, April 18, 2013, at his home.
Among survivors are his wife, Marilyn; two sons, Phil (Sonnie) Litwiller of Berne and Scott (Sheri) Litwiller of Berne; two daughters, Becky (Kent) Lehman of Berne and Cindy (Ramon) Garcia of Fishers, Ind.; daughter-in-law, Ann Litwiller of Peoria, Ill.; two sisters, Delores Moorman of Warsaw and Juanita (Jim) Adams of Berne; 14 grandchildren; and eight great-grand children.
